"Mrs. Smith, Yoloan 68 Years, Dies
Mrs. Emeline Smith, 92, resident of Yolo county for 68 years, died in her sleep Sunday at her home in Brooks. She was a native of Buchanan, Michigan, and came west in 1875 with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Henry, local pioneers.
Although in failing health for a long time, Mrs. Smith's death was sudden and came as a great shock to her friends and relatives throughout Yolo county.
Mrs. Smith was an active member of the W.C.T.U. and during her life-time had been a leader. She was kind and considerate and had a wide circle of friends who loved and admired her.
She is survived by three sons, Willard F. and Henry Earl Smith of Brooks and Avery G. Smith of Venice; two daughters, Mrs. Ivy J. Baas of Hubbard, Texas, and Mrs. Clyde P. Harlan of Compton; a sister, Mrs. Alma Cranston of Woodland; a brother George W. Henry of Scotia, Illinois, and 10 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
